The perfect reward for a hard climb. Seven days on the Machame route to Uhuru Peak, a night in Moshi, then a short flight to Zanzibar and four nights by the Indian Ocean.
The climb follows our 7-day Machame route, with the extra day that helps acclimatisation. After Mweka Gate you sleep in Moshi, and the next morning we drive you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the flight to Zanzibar, about an hour and a half.
On the island you stay at a beach hotel with breakfast and dinner, and the days are yours.

Up through alpine desert to the Lava Tower for lunch, then down into the Barranco Valley past giant groundsels: high by day, lower at night.

A scramble up the Barranco Wall, then up and down across valleys to Karanga Camp. A short day that gives your body more time.

A rocky ridge to Barafu Camp. Early dinner and rest before the midnight start.

Barafu Camp (4,640 m) → Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) → Mweka Camp (3,080 m)

Through the rainforest to Mweka Gate for your summit certificate, then back to Moshi for a hot shower.
