This trip is for travellers who want to see both southern parks in a short time. You fly into Mikumi, drive across to Selous with your guide, and fly back to Zanzibar from there, so you never repeat a journey.
The drive between the parks is long and on rough roads in places, so it takes most of the middle day. We plan it for your exact dates, which is why we price this trip on request.
Day by day
Day 1: Zanzibar to Mikumi
Morning flight to Mikumi, game drive, lunch, and an afternoon drive.
Day 2: Mikumi to Selous
An early drive in Mikumi, then the road journey to Selous with your guide, through farmland and villages. Arrival at camp in the afternoon or evening.
Day 3: Boat safari and back to Zanzibar
A morning boat safari on the river, then the flight from Selous back to Zanzibar and our driver to your hotel.
The drive from Mikumi to Selous takes most of a day; we confirm the route and timing for your date. Small planes allow about 15 kg of luggage per person, hand luggage included, best in a soft bag; we confirm your airline's limit when we book. Flights can be delayed by weather or air traffic; if that happens, we adjust the day so you lose as little time in the park as possible.

Why is there no price on this page?
The road between the two parks and the flight times change with the season, so we work out each date separately. You get a full written price within 24 hours.
Is the drive between the parks tiring?
It is a long day in the vehicle, with stops. If you prefer less driving, choose one park, or add a night and take it more slowly.
Could we do it in the other direction?
Yes, we can start in Selous and finish in Mikumi if the flights work better that way.
