A honeymoon planned as a whole: a quiet first night with flowers and sparkling wine, a night on the crater rim, a private dinner under the Serengeti sky and four slow days on Zanzibar's north coast.
Choose mid-range or luxury lodges. On the luxury level a sunrise balloon flight in the Serengeti is included; on mid-range it can be added for about US$599 per person.
Prices are per person sharing, for two travellers. They can be higher if the lodges you want are full, so book early. The same trip works for anniversaries.

Kilimanjaro International Airport → Arusha
Your guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drives you about an hour to your lodge near Arusha, where flowers and sparkling wine are waiting. In the evening your guide joins you briefly to talk about the days ahead.
Arusha → Tarangire National Park
About two hours to Tarangire, famous for big elephant herds and old baobabs. Game drives with a picnic, and your lodge near the park in the late afternoon.
Tarangire → Mto wa Mbu → Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater rim
An easy day: an early drive in Tarangire or a slow breakfast, then up through Mto wa Mbu and Karatu's farmland to the highlands, in time to watch the sun set over the crater.
Ngorongoro Crater → Central Serengeti
Down into the crater early, when the light is soft. Lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and, with luck, black rhino. After a picnic you drive west into the Serengeti to your camp. A long but memorable day.
Central Serengeti
A full day in the central Serengeti, where lions, leopards and cheetahs live all year. On the luxury level it starts with a balloon flight at sunrise. In the evening your camp sets up a private dinner for two out in the bush.
Seronera airstrip → Zanzibar → Nungwi or Kendwa
A last morning drive, then the Seronera airstrip and a small scheduled plane to Zanzibar, usually with a stop. Our driver takes you to your beach resort on the north coast, in time for sunset.

White sand and clear water on the north coast, where the sea stays good for swimming for more of the day than on the east coast.

Spend the day as you like, then board a traditional wooden dhow in the late afternoon for a sunset sail with drinks and snacks.

Rest, or see more of the island: a spice farm, Stone Town or snorkelling, at extra cost.

After breakfast you are driven to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.
