Overview

Ten days from landing to take-off, with nights in Arusha at each end so long flights do not eat into the safari. In between: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, four nights in the Serengeti and the crater.

The Serengeti part is split in two: two nights in the centre for the resident cats, then two in the area where the herds are in your month, usually the southern plains around Ndutu from about December to March and the north near the Mara River from about July to October.

It ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport, or you can continue to Zanzibar for a few days by the sea.

Questions

Before you book

Is ten days too long for a safari?

It is a relaxed pace: there are rest nights in Arusha, and the Serengeti days are split between two different areas.

When should we go?

January to March for calving, July to October for the river crossings. The rest of the year the central Serengeti is still excellent.

Can we add Zanzibar?

Yes, on day 10 we can drive you to the airport for a flight to Zanzibar instead of home.
