Overview
Start slowly on the beach at Nungwi, then fly over the mainland straight into the Serengeti, spend a night there and a night on the crater rim, and finish on the crater floor.
The first three nights are at an all-inclusive 4-star resort at Nungwi, where the sea is calm and easy for swimming. On day 4 you fly to the Serengeti; from July to September the flight is usually direct, at other times it stops at Arusha and Lake Manyara.
The safari uses a luxury tented camp in the Serengeti and a luxury lodge at Ngorongoro. We price this trip for your dates, because flights and luxury rooms change with the season.

A free day by the sea
Nungwi's water is calm, with a reef just offshore for snorkelling. If you want to see more of the island we can arrange a spice tour or a sunset dhow sail.

Last beach day
One more full day on the sand. In the evening pack for the safari: the light aircraft take one soft bag of up to 15 kg per person.

Day 4
Fly to the Serengeti
An early transfer to Zanzibar Airport for the morning flight to the Serengeti. The coast falls away and the plains appear; your guide meets you at the airstrip and the game drive begins.

From the Serengeti to Ngorongoro
A morning in the Seronera area, among the most reliable places in the park for lions and leopards, then east through Maasai grazing land and up to your lodge on the crater rim.

Day 6
The crater and departure
You go down at first light, when it is cool and the animals are active: lions, elephants, buffalo and, with luck, black rhino. Afterwards you fly from Arusha back to Zanzibar, or we drive you to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Price on request: luxury rooms and flights are priced for your dates. The Zanzibar hotel tax of US$5 per person per night is paid at the hotel.
